How to write instruction texts.

First write an effective heading that describes what the instructions are about and will draw in a reader like: How to draw a chicken the easy way.

Then write a sentence on what the instructions are telling you to do such as: These are instructions on how to make the best chocolate cake ever!

Use numbered steps and chronological order for the main part of the instructions.

Add a diagram or more showing how to complete the trickier steps. Remember to include a caption telling what the diagram is showing.
