STEPS
TOOLS

Gather your materials.

Recommended: Pour yourself a Dwarven Ale!

Recommended: Give your bottle opener a good wipe down with WD-40 (or similar) to help protect steel from rust.

Wet down leather lacing. Just a quick dip will make the leather easier to wrap and it will dry nice and tight when we're done.

Now we're ready to get to it! With your blade facing left, the end of the leather lace points to the third notch opening on the left while wrapping around the second opening on the right.

From the back side wrap up through the first opening on the left, then across to the first opening on the right.

Bring it around the back again to the second opening on the left. Now come across our strap to hold it in place and wrap around the fourth opening on the right.

From here we hit the 4th on the left to the 6th on the right. Continue wrapping... 6th left / 8th right and so on. Every other notch opening as you work your way down the handle.

As you reach the bottom of the handle, flip the axe over so the blade is facing right. Now we stop wrapping when we reach the last notch on the right (blade side).

Bring the lace through the back side of the first eye hole.

Then down through the next eye hole leaving a loose opening to tie off with.

Thread the lace back around and through our opening.

Snug up a bit more positioning our lace over the last notch opening on the left before we tighten up.

Snug it all down.

Now take your knife, or similar flat object, and pry up on the strap so we can feed the end under to secure.

Cut off excess lacing.

That's it! Here's what the finished back side of your opener should look like.

And here's the front. Nice job, lets enjoy that beer now! /cheers
