How to wash hair properly

Wash hands

Greet client, ask for jewelry to be taken out

Add a towel around neck, so drape doesn't touch skin

Place cape over towel

Add one more towel over top and add clip in place

Part hair down the middle

Separate halves into halves again making four quadrants and brush out the quadrants

Pick the right shampoo for your clients hair

Sit client down, make sure cape is over the chair back

Check water with the inside of you wrist for perfect temperature

Protect face and ears with your hand

Rinse clients hair throughly

Add the appropriate amount for shampoo

Lather shampoo in working form the top to the bottom

Rinse out shampoo, make sure to protect clients face

Make sure to leave no excess residue shampoo

Apply conditioner to the ends of the hair

Comb through the conditioner working at the bottoms to the top

Add detangler to the hair if it's knotty

Wash out conditioner leaving no residue

Make sure to get the back of the clients hair

Ring out client hair of any water

Take towel on top of the cape and dry the clients hair with it

Ask client to go back to the chair for brush through

Finish appointment with a brush out

Make sure to clean out sink for next customer
