Step 1. Wash hands with soap and warm water
Step 2. Draping- put a towel around the neck first
Put a drape over the towel, making sure the drape does not touch the neck.
Then put another towel over the drape to help absorb water around the neck area while the hair is being washed.
Step 3. Pre-brush- split the hair into four sections
Step 4. Check the water temperature with your hand to make sure the water isn't too hot or too cold.
Step 5. Wet the hair starting from the top of the head, to the bottom. Make sure you guide the water away from the face and ears using your hand.
Step 6. Lather shampoo into the hair starting from the top of the hair to the bottom, using slow, circular motion to massage the head. Use a quarter size of shampoo, add a little more if needed.
Step 7. Rinse hair of shampoo, once again starting from the top of the head to the bottom. Feel the hair after the wash to make sure all shampoo is gone.
Step 8. Apply conditioner. Make sure to only apply on the ends of the hair, starting from the middle and working down. Leave in for 2 minutes.
Step 9. After applying conditioner and leaving it in for a couple of minutes, comb it out to make sure the conditioner is evenly spread through the hair.
Step 10. Rinse fully, make sure you get the conditioner out of the hair.
Step 11. After rinsing the hair, take the towel that's on top of the cape and warp your hair in it to make sure your hair doesn't drip all over.
Step 12. Take client back to your chair and proceed to dab the hair making sure to get the excess water out.
Step 13. Proceed to section out the hair into 4 sections brushing the hair out evenly.
Step 14. After brushing the hair, undrap them. Taking off the towels and cape.
Step 15. After your done everything with your client, proceed to clean up your station and prepare for the next client.
