Spray inside of sand molds heavily with cooking spray.  Turn molds upside down for excess to drip out.

In a disposable container mix the concrete with water...a bit at a time.  You want the consistency of slushy sand...not too dry, not to wet.  Add water or concrete as needed.

Fill molds a couple at a time.  The concrete sets fast, make small batches.  Fill mold to top and smooth with straight edge. Use towels to set molds on, bunch as needed to prop and make molds level.

Tap down while filling to get out any air pockets.

Let dry for at least an hour or two before trying to pop pieces out.

Carefully pull edges away and apply pressure to pop pieces out of mold.

Set out to completely dry for at least 24 hours.  Spray pieces with water during the first few hours.

Ready for the sand box!

  • Sand toys, I used a 10 piece dinosaur skeleton
  • Rapid Set Concrete, water
  • Cups for scooping, stir stick.
  • Cooking spray
  • Towels
