Say you have a problem like this (3x8)+(12-6)+9. You have to use the order of operations. P.E.M.D.A.S

P.E.M.D.A.S Stands for parenthesis, exponent, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction. These are the steps you need to use in order. This is how you will solve your problem.

So we have (3x8)+(12-9)+9. We'll start with the parenthesis because that's the first order in the order of operations.

So first you would do the parenthesis so 3x8=24 and then 12-9=3 because those are in the parenthesis. Next thing in our problem is addition, since we don't have any multiplication or division or expo.

So now we'll add 24+3=27 And our last step is to add 27+9=36

And that is how you use PEMDAS. hope this helped!
