My lavender needs pruning

Lightning struck our house so no electricity hens the kerosene lamp. Remove the leaves from the stems.

Take 14 lavender and place the bottom of the flower heads together. Tie your string under the flower heads. Leave the short end of the string long, you will need it later.

Put the short end of the string in side the lavender bouquet and turn your small bouquet up side down. Fold 2 stems down over the long end of your string.

Fold the next 2 stems down under your string. Then continue to fold down 2 stems at the time alternating over and under the string.

Weave as tight as you can, because the flowers will shrink as they dry. You can use thin ribbons instead of string. My string is embroidery cotton.

Continue to weave the string round the flower heads. Remove the small flowers that sticks out.

3 times round the flower heads. Use 14 lavender if you fold down 2 stems at the time. If you fold down 3 stems you need 15 lavenders. So 2x7 or 3x5 or 2x9 or 3x7 and so on if you want them bigger.

Tie the string round the stems when you have covered the flower heads. Trim the stems.

Tie the two ends together so you can hang the lavender. Rumour has it that lavender will protect against moths. Tying the lavender like this prevents the flowers from falling off when dry.
