How to use an oscilloscope

First test with just a battery

Connect one end of the probe to the negative terminal

...and the other end to the negative

See that the base line on the oscilloscope has jumped! You have a DC offset!

Turn on 'output' on the function generator

Attach the probe ends from the oscilloscope to the function generator. It doesn't matter which way you attach them.

Connect the other ends.

If your wave is off the screen push auto set.

See the wave on the oscilloscope !
