Step 1. Place the middle of the protractor on the vertex of the angle that you are going to measure.

Step 2. Line up the 0 degrees mark with the side of the angle so that you can measure the angle clockwise and make sure that the middle of the protractor stays over the vertex of the angle.

Step 3. Read the degree measure at the mark on the protractor that lines up with the second side of the angle. For example this is measures 90 degrees so it is a right angle.

Step 4. Draw a ray

Step 5. If you want a right angle, then you do a point at the 90 degree mark

Step 6. Draw another ray that goes through the point you made
