After putting the table together, I took it outside and used my mouse sander to lightly sand off the finish.

A side note: my husband's sander was super powerful so I hated to use it. He bought me this smaller one called a mouse sander. NEW ADDICTION!!!!! I want to sand everything now!!! Well worth the money!

It ran and bubbled..I ran back to Lowe's and bought Valspar and it covered beautifully! I really like Rustoleum as well.

After 1 coat of the Valspar. You can also spray upside down, which is nice!

I'm also in love with this Minwax product called Polycrylic. Sort of like Modge Podge but thinner and more clear. Better for bigger projects because it's cheaper.

After applying the 3rd coat of Polycrylic, I lauded the mirror down while the 3rd coat was still wet. Press firmly!

Make sure you let each coat of Polycrylic dry before applying the next. About 30 minutes between each coat.
