How to turn off a sprinkler main

Locate your Sprinkler Main Key (Stop and Waste Key

This is what your Valve looks like. You want the head of the Key to reach on top of this valve.

Locate your stop and waste Valve. It is a PVC pipe in your yard (usually not in the lawn). Your Key will go inside this.

Insert the Key into the PVC pipe and let it reach to the bottom.

Gently turn the Key, what you are attempting to do is fit the head of the key around the valve. Once you feel it slide over the valve, turn 1/4 to the right to turn it off.
