Trap Fruit Flies

This is a modified, upgraded version of the basic trap using only apple cider vinegar. The cantaloupe has a pungent smell that the flies love. Coupled with the vinegar, it's a knock out combo.

I added the fly tape to catch those tricky fruit flies that would hang out on the side of the jar and never land on the top. Those little buggers thought they'd outsmarted a human. Nope!

Place wrap over the top, smooth out and poke about 10 holes. Use the Tac to make holes just big enough for the flies to crawl in but not big enough to crawl out. Press the sides down firmly.

Check out the fruit fly party. The flies were attracted to it as soon as I put it down. Note the flies on the side. Next step addresses the ones that don't crawl into the trap.

USE GLOVES. Unroll then wrap 1 spool of the sticky fly tape around the jar as an extra trap. Sometimes the flies will hang outside the jar. With the tape, they'll get stuck.

SERIOUSLY!! USE GLOVES! It is almost impossible to remove the sticky glue from your hands.
