How to teach your dog to give kisses
Kissing, or to be more exact, face licking is the way a less dominant dog shows respect to the pack leader. This trick is a celebration of your pack status and relationship with your dog.

When giving kisses the dog licks or nudges your lips or cheek
Start by kneeling in front of your dog call your dogs name . Then place a treat (starting with a biscuit) in your mouth. Point to your mouth and say kisses.
Your dog will move forward to take the biscuit continue saying kisses and point to the biscuit. Some dogs will be hesitant to move to your face be patient and encouraging.
A gentle removal of the treat is what we are looking for. If the dog is rough say ouch and move away. Repeat the process.
When your dog takes the biscuit from your mouth give praise. As the dog gets better at gently taking the treat make it smaller. Eventually eliminate the treat and use the hand signal(touch lip).
If you do not want to have the dog kiss your lips you can place a dab of peanut butter on you cheek. Point and give the verbal command kisses.
This is a fun and easy trick, however, you may need to work with your dog to take the treat in a gentle manner. Do not use no for correction, an ouch with a gentle works well. Try it and have fun.
