For this guide, I will be using this figurine-thing as my example.
Find good lighting. Indoor lighting isn't always the best. Try finding some natural light.
Okay so I found natural light, but it's in a weird spot. Moving on!
Here the lighting is even better, but the backround is too busy. Find a simple backdrop that won't take attention away from your subject.
I found a simpler backround, but this picture is at a weird angle. Play around with the angles to find which one captures the subject best.
Here is a good angle, but the subject isn't placed in the shot right. Because her head is tilted to the left, the shot should be moved more to the left.
Also, focus on the subject by tapping on the subject on the screen. This photo is not focused on the subject, and it looks really bad.
This photo has a simple backdrop, is in natural lighting by a window, and is in focus. Also notice that the angle and shot complements the subjects pose. 🙌👍
Remember the 5 steps. Backdrop, lighting, angle, shot, and focus. This photo was taken by my iPod, and I followed the 5 steps to a great photo! 👍💕
