Take Care of Yorkies

When you first bring your yorkie home, show him some love! You just got him for goodness sake! :-) Maybe show him around the house, show him his crate. You know, whatever you feel like!

After a while, you'll need to start making the rules. Decide whether or not he will sleep in a kennel or with you. (I put mine in a kennel until he got a bit bigger, and the I let him sleep with me)

Make sure your dog knows his kennel and bed. Put some old blankets around it.

As for the food and water, make sure it's available at ALL times. Check in with your vet to see what brand of food he should eat.

Get lots of toys! Puppies love to chew, so make sure to have some good old chew toys in there. ;-) Try not to get rope toys, or toys that break easily. It could seriously injure your puppy.

Do not use puppy pads! Start potty training your dog at day one! Take him outside. Yes, he will have accidents in the house, but puppy pads teach him to do it inside every time.

You will need some grooming supplies for your yorkie. Their coats can get long and matted, so regular grooming is needed.

Have fun with your new yorkie!
