Catch your horse and find a safe and secure place to tie him(tie using a halter and a lead rope).
Before putting any tack on the horse, check all of it for anything that could bother or harm the horse.
You should put everything on from the horse's left side. Starts by laying the saddle pad on the horses back just behind the withers.
Next, take your saddle and get everything out of the way, meaning take your right stirrup and loop it onto the horn. Also, take the breast collar and girth and lay it over the saddle seat.
Take your saddle and swing it up onto the horse's back. Make sure that it is sitting directly on top of the saddle pad, so that none of it is on the horse's bare back.
Take the girth and breast collar and flip them back over to the other side.
Before you start to cinch the saddle loop your left stirrup onto the horn so that it isn't in your way.
Reach under the horse's stomach, grab the girth and pull it snug to the horse to start cinching the saddle.
Put the end of the latigo through the big ring on the girth.
Pull up on the latigo until it is just snug on the horse(it will be tightened later).
Pull the latigo upwards out of the big ring on the girth. Then go through the dee ring on the saddle pulling the latigo downwards.
Pull the latigo down and go through the big girth ring again, pulling it towards you.
Pull the latigo out towards you and go back up through the dee ring again.
Bring the latigo around and put it through the right side of the dee ring to make a big loop.
Pull the latigo up and then go down through the loop that you just made.
This is what it should look like. To tighten, pull on the bottom outer most loop with your right hand, while simultaneously pulling from left to right on the top loop with your left hand.
Grab the breast collar, and pull it around your horse's chest towards you.
Hook the breast collar on the same hole on both sides.
Pull the bottom latch under the horse's chest and latch it onto one of the small rings on the girth.
To put the bridle on, start by putting the headpiece/throatlatch piece around the horse's nose.
Put the noseband around the horse's nose and pull the bridle up until the headpiece reaches the horse's ears.
Fold down the horse's ears and pull the headpiece over your horse's ears.
Tighten the throatlatch just enough to where it is snug to the horse. This is what it should look like.
Pull your reins up and around your horse's head and bring them back to your saddle.
