Eighteen percent of women & six percent of men suffer from migraine headaches. Classic symptoms are blurred vision, sensitivity to light, sound, basically all your senses, and nausea with vomiting.
Grab a glass of water & guzzle. Often a migraine is caused by dehydration. Refill the glass.
Next grab 2 of these bad boys. If you don't have these on hand, take pain relievers & caffeine. Caffeine can trigger migraines, but also relieve them.
Next make sure this eye mask is handy. I keep mine by my bed. Light aggravates my migraine like no other.
Crawl into bed. The headache usually makes me want to blow my brains out. I try & calm myself down by repeating the mantra "relax" & practice slow breathing techniques.
Download the "Brainwave" app in the iTunes Store. It costs .99 but it's helped me sleep & with headache relief.
Choose headache relief for any desired time. I usually choose two hours.
After your migraine, keep a journal of what might be your triggers. They can be hormonal, foods, alcohol, sleep disruptions. I also use RX drugs, topimirate daily. See a physician. Good luck!
