When you first start Instagram, make sure you have a private account so people you don't can't stalk or look at your pictures.
If somebody you don't know texts you and asked where you live or how old you are, if you feel uncomfortable about it, press the report button so they don't bother you anymore.
If you decide to have a non private account, make sure you have appropriate pictures. Don't have pictures that are offensive to other people and ones that attract people you don't know.
Only let people you know follow you. It doesn't matter how many follows you have just as long as you are safe.
some people are predators to children. so when you make an Instagram account always know who you are talking to as some people try to act to be your friend but really they just want to hurt you.
if you know anyone who is talking to someone and you are worried, speak to an adult you trust and they also trust them. a good person to speak to is a teacher or their parents.
