How to sign the alphabet

Remove all jewelry on your fingers because it is distracting to whoever you are signing to.

A Clench a fist and stick your thumb out on the side.

B Face your palm out and point your thumb in.

C Cup your hand into a curve.

E Turn your hand outward and curl your fingers in like a claw.

F It looks like an "ok" sign.

G It can be done in two ways. Like your pinching something or.....

G ....like you just snapped your fingers.

H Put your index and middle finger together and point parallel to your body.

I Stick your pinky up like you're fancy.

K Make finger scissors and place your thumb behind the middle finger. (I exaggerated my thumb so you could see the placing. If you do that, it could mean something else.)

L Make the loser sign.

M Stick your thumb under your index, middle, and ring finger and extend those fingers. It even resembles an M.

N This is the same as M except you place your thumb under 2 fingers, not 3.

O Make an O.

P It is and upside down K. Make sure your fingers point to the ground and tuck the thumb away!

Q It is an upside down G. You can use both spellings of G as long as you point the fingers toward the ground.

R Twist your middle and index finger together.

S Place your thumb on the outside of your fist.

T Stick your thumb under the index finger and point it upwards.

U It's a vertical H.

V It's the same as U except for the fact that the fingers are apart. It resembles a peace sign.

W It resembles a W or counting to 3.

X Make a fist and curl your index finger like a claw.

Y It looks like the surfer symbol.
