How to sign into canvas as a parent on the web

Click the Chrome icon to launch Chrome browser.

Click the icon that looks like a person at the top right of your browser window.

Sign into Chrome using your Gmail username. You do not need to type in the @gmail.com

You'll see this screen asking for your email. You can just enter your short username like mine.

Enter your password. You'll notice that Google recognizes your account.

Now you're signed in. Click Got It.

Notice your name at the top right of your browser.

Click the the horizontal lines at the top right. This is your menu.

Click Bookmarks

Check Show bookmarks bar

Type canvas ccisd into the omnibox (address bar)

Click Log In to Canvas

Click Parent of a Canvas User?

Enter your name (parent name), your full email addresses, and have your child enter his/her username and password. Be sure to check the box agreeing to the privacy policy.

Click Get Started and check your email.

Find the message from Canvas Notification

Follow the link

Type in a password you will remember.

You are now in Canvas as an Observer linked directly to your student.

Click the star in order to book mark or favorite this site
