Trace 6 circles
Label: hatching, cross hatching, stippling, scumbling, blending and shading
Use an H pencil and create lines that are close together and moving in the same direction. Hatching is one way to shade
Using an H pencil Begin with hatching lines and then overlap with lines in the other direction. Cross hatching creates a darker shaded area
Use a B pencil. Create dots in a controlled way. Space them close together to create dark shaded areas and space them apart for light shading
Using a B pencil dribble in a circular way. Close together scribbles make for dark shading and scribbles that are farther apart create lighter areas
Using an ebony pencil try to shade the circle to appear like a ball. Darken areas away from the light source and gradually lighten as you near the light source
Using a 4b pencil shade circle to resemble a ball. Use a blending stump to blend graphite, gradually going from light to dark.
