Carefully align ruler along the long edge of paper. Make sure the end of the ruler is right at the edge of the paper.

Make a small light pencil mark at each 1" interval -- for example 1, 2, 3, etc all the way across the paper.

Move the ruler to the bottom edge of the paper and repeat the last step. When complete, you should have 9 marks along the top and 9 along the bottom.

Then turn the ruler so that it crosses from top to bottom and align it with the first marks on the top and the bottom. Draw a light line along the straight edge of the ruler connecting them.

Continue all the way across the page until you have 9 lines.

Turn the paper and line up the ruler along the short edge of the paper this time. Make 7 light marks across the top.

Repeat on the bottom edge.

Next connect each of those marks and draw a light pencil line across the paper. That's it! You're done - your drawing paper is ready to go.
