This is a pre-made, 2-story chicken coop.  It opens at the front window, door, and far side.  The chickens sleep and lay their eggs upstairs, while their food is protected on the lower level.

I didn't like the idea of having my chickens in that small house full time, so I opened up the right side by removing the wire there.  Then had the center run built the length of my retaining wall.

This far right end of the run has a corrugated metal roof for shade. Their watering pail is refilled here as the sprinklers in my garden come on, and it's cleaned out through this end gate.

Chickens are quite funny to watch!  The way my coop and run is placed, they can be seen from all of my back doors and windows.
