First, connect your iPhone to the MacBook.

After iPhone is connected, select the device in the left side pane. Then, select Apps at the top of screen. This is where the option is for auto installing new apps from iTunes onto the iPhone.

After iPhone is connected, select the device in the left side pane. Then, select Apps at the top of screen. This is where the option is for auto installing new apps from iTunes onto the iPhone.

If you uncheck the Auto Install New Apps option, this will also stop re-adding apps to your iPhone that you've intentionally deleted. Thank goodness.

Select the Summary at the top of the screen to see other options available. If you don't want apps to sync, uncheck the Auto Sync When iPhone is Connected box.

That's it. There are no other options for syncing apps.
