Caught in the rain with nice shoes?
Ok, quick! Shake the shoes of excess water and stuff with newspaper.
If they have laces, remove them.
Wait until *most* of the water has been removed and then inset cedar shoe trees (not plastic ones). This will preserve the shape of the shoes, absorb left over moisture, and prevent mildew.
Airflow over the drying shoes can help prevent mildew. Be careful: do not dry in direct sunlight.
