How to save a smaller file version of a picture

Open your image in "preview" if you're on a mac

In the menu bar select..Tools > Adjust Size

Check scale proportionally of you a want the image to maintain the same proportions. Check resample image. Type in the desired height or width (whichever is higher). File > Save
