Sliding glass doors are a cause of finger accidents. Follow this guide for simple steps to safeguard your door (and your fingers).
Gather your supplies.
Tie the twine around the screw head.
Insert screw into the ball.
There should be a screw installed high up in the frame of your door.
Loosen this screw about 1/8".
Tie the twine around the screw about 10" from the ball.
Retighten the screw.
To close the door, swing the ball to the side. Children won't be able to reach the ball. The door will latch as normal.
When the door is opened, the ball falls into the door jam and prevents the door from closing on fingers.
