How to repurpose salvaged wood into an organizer
Repurpose Salvaged Wood Into an Organizer
29
STEPS
TOOLS
Cut up a wood pallet. These can be rough cuts at different lengths.
Collect old drawer pulls. These are from the Habitat for Humanity ReStore.
Measure where you want to drill the holes.
Drill the holes into the wood. Once the holes are drilled then sand the wood.
I then added tung oil to the wood which is optional. Now you screw in the drawer pulls.
Another option for jazzing up your organizer is to refinish dated drawer pulls. I shabby chic-ed these ones which turned them from drab to fab.
I added two options for hanging the salvaged wood organizer. I used 2 screw-in eyelets along the top. I drilled holes then screwed the eyelets in.
I also nailed in a sawtooth hanger in the back. Other options include hanging the organizer using d-rings and wire or drilling the organizer into the wall.
Now you're done... Once you get started you can't stop! An easy peasy & cheap upcycling project that looks great.
