Before we get into this project, I just wanted to let you guys know that lowes did all the cuts i needed for this project for free. But just to be safe make sure you check with them before hand.😬
As always make sure your safe when you do this and please ask questions if you have them but not a professional lol just did it as a home project. This project worked great for me!!
This is the mosaic I decided to use since it doesn't require grout it just needs the adhesive putty on the back .Which I think it way easier and looks great!! I'll take a better pic of the supplies
First find your fireplace
If you want great work you must first have a clean work area :)
Take your adhesive putty and apply some on your surface your going to work on or the piece you are about to put on. Whichever you like
Here's the putty on the surface... Remember only apply the putty to the are you are working on at that time. You don't want it to dry out.
Apply your stone and hold for a min or until it can stand by itself.. For me I had a little ledge so it worked perfectly for holding the pieces 👍👍
Here's a better pic of it sitting on the ledge 😁
The rest just fits like puzzle pieces just apply the putty and put the piece in until your all the way across your fireplace face
I decided to give it a gap and instead of spending money I just used penny's at the corner of the pieces to get the space I wanted. 😀click the pic for a better view
First row done😬time to start on the second one. Turns out the pieces fit almost perfectly with no cutting.
First row done... I'll come back to those little gaps at the end don't worry about it right now.
Adding paste for the second row
Second row done! And just continued for the other spots😀
Here's a better pic. All the small pieces were measured and then I just took that to lowes and they cut it all for free!! But check and make sure they will do that for you guys too :)
And gaps filled with stone.
Finished product and new paint job to the wall. Lol the blue def didn't go with it
Here's a better pic😬 best thing about this is it only cost under $80 and that was for everything!! If you have any questions please let me know thanks for viewing !
