How to recycle an old harddisk-drive as desktop art

So you got some new harddrives, but what to do with the old ones you took from a 5 year old computer? Nobody will buy something like a 30GB harddrive anymore

Go get a picture frame - I recommend Ribba from IKEa. It has the perfect fit for 3.5" harddrives

Remove the cover from your old harddrive. So not touch the shiny disk, you'll never be able to remove your fingerprints from it.

Use the screws to screw it to the passepartout of the frame.

Attach the stand to the back of the harddrive using double-sided tape or - like I did - screws that are supposed for mounting the harddrive in your computer.

You're done. Put it on your desk!
