Make sure it is water based paint for this, NOT grease paint. I am using some old Kryolan Aquacolor makeup that has been dried up for years! I transfer my paints into these screw together jars.

Let it sit 5 minutes or so and soak.

Beautiful! Wet enough to instantly load your brush with a single dip. Soft enough to mix your own colors with ease.

Just dip and paint! This is as wet as I let mine get...usually it's somewhere in between. But this works great to refresh your paints if they are dry & you are preparing to paint again.
