How to propagate impatiens

My grandmother used to root Impatiens a lot.  You don't need anything fancy.  I've chosen shotglasses.

Gather some cuttings and place them in clean water. Try to angle the cut slightly and scrape the side of stem a bit.

I'm going to plant in this old log.  I'm at the cottage, so a rustic look will do fine here.  Keep Impatiens out of direct sunlight.

I used regular potting mix and a coffee filter to line the log.  Its hard to see, but these cuttings have lots of buds and will flower soon.

I remember the huge plant that my grandmother kept inside all winter. All you need is one plant to start and you can have several in no time!
