Get a bottle of the amber colored Listerine... Soak your/kids hair in it. For girls with long hair , a pony works well for pouring in on top of their head to see it drip our the end of the ponytail.
Let it sit for 15 minutes. This kills the eggs and the live lice.
Bathe the heck out of hair with a good shampoo and double rinse.
