How to preserve lettuce

Do not throw away any more leafy produce. Store them in mason jars, they will keep for about 1wk or more and will not brown or have wilted looking, yucky leaves. Great for on the go just add dressing.

Star # 2 Take the romaine lettuce you are using or any  other leafy veg. and cut it into pieces. Discard any bad parts. Thoroughly wash it.

Toss the romaine In a salad spinner and dry them really well. If you don't have a salad spinner get one it is cheap. For the moment just dry them very well with paper towels.

When the romaine is dry stuff It in a jar and cover it with a lid. You can fit a lot in a quart size jar it's amazing. That's all easy does it.

The greens stay fresh and crisp for about a week maybe more. Try this method with spinach, kale, Swiss chard, iceberg lettuce etc. You will not be disappointed I can assure you of that. :)
