TOOLS
First review with the patient the agreed upon treatment plan and show patient sample of finished crown
Have patient read and sign informed consent for crowns
Select crown shade using mirror held by patient.
Apply topical anesthesia wait one or two full minutes
If using quadrant trays take an opposing arch impression as well as a bite registration.
Inject local anesthesia wait until it takes effect. Take two heavy body polyvinyl siloxane impressions using two triple trays or two quadrant trays.
Prepare the mesial and distal using the large tapered diamond or the 56 fissure bur as space permits
Reduce medial and distal with large tapered diamond. Reduce tooth enough so that medial and distal of prep no longer touch adjacent teeth
Use short needle nose red diamond to narrow mesial and distal to create space for 00 cord
Pack oo cord all around the base of the tooth, do not use aluminum sulfate (septin) use hemodent (aluminum chloride) instead.
00 cord at. Bottom of sulcus
Next use 2.00 mm bur to cut three occlusal depth cuts
Green 2mm depth cuts
Use 1.5 mm for axial depth cuts. (Yellow)
Axial depth cuts. Being made
Use 1.25 diamond to make buccal and lingual cuts at gingival margins

Cutting bucal and lingual cuts
Join depth cuts with narrower diamond
