Prep your cutting board by placing a damp towel underneath to prevent board from moving or slipping while working.
Take your half of the playdoh and roll into a log shape.

Slice the doh on one side using the slice forward pull back motion. It feels like you are playing a violin.
Flip your "product" onto the flat side - now it won't roll! Begin slicing PLANKS to your desired thickness.
Once you have your planks you can cut your strips. If Julienning slice into your match sticks . Check your width using the worksheet . Place your best sample in the corresponding box.

Tada! You will do the same process for batonnet but make the slices wider.
Roll into a log
For both your round and diagonal slices you will first start by rolling your doh into a log shape.
Round slices - usually done with carrots or fruit. In recipes they will often say to cut into coin shape. Place your sample in the corresponding box.
Diagonal slices
Diagonal slices are cut on the diagonal! Roll your dough then slice. Place your best cut in the corresponding box.
Chiffonade Flatten your dough into a leaf shape.
Tightly roll up your "leaf" .
Rolled
Slice your leaf into thin pieces. This is the finished product. Place one finished sample in the corresponding box.
Cut your planks into the desired width for the type of DICE you are doing. Remember - planks to strips to cubes.

MINCE-tiny pieces usually done with onions and garlic.
One option is to use a rocking motion to mince. One hand rests on the top of the knife at the top end to allow you to perform a rocking motion.
