These are frets

Put your first finger on the 4th string on the 2nd fret

Put your 2nd finger on the 6th string on the second fret

Place your 3rd finger on the 5th string on the 3rd fret (that is a "D")

Your next chord is an "A" place you first finger on the 3rd string on the 2nd fret
