STEPS
TOOLS
First, make sure your guitar is in standard tuning. Starting from the thickest string, the tuning should be: Low E, A, D, G, B and High E.
Put aside your pick, and we'll start with the C chord.
Place your first finger on the B string on the first fret. Frets are the sections from the pegs, down to the hole.
Place your middle finger on the D string on the second fret.
Then place your ring finger on the A string on the third fret.
If you're strumming sounds muffled, make sure to have your fingers pointed while on the strings. Don't press down too hard.
Let's move onto the A minor chord. The first and middle finger have the same placements as the C chord.
Place your third finger on the G string on the third fret.
Now onto E major. Place your first finger on the G string on the first fret.
Place your middle finger on the A string on the second fret.
Place your third finger on the D string on the second fret right below your middle finger.
We'll be learning the final chord; the F chord. It's the hardest out of these four.
Place your first finger on the high E and the B string on the first fret. Your finger should be holding head both down at the same time.
Place your middle finger on the G string on the second fret.
Place your third finger on the D string on the third fret.
Remember that practice makes perfect. Keep your fingers pointed on the strings, and don't press too hard on them. Good luck!
