Set up an A4 document in photoshop, use CMYK colour mode as you may want to print it
Open a picture of your image, arrange the screen tile vertical
Use the magic wand tool to select the white background behind the blade, then select, inverse to select the blade, note the marching ants around the blade
Use the arrow, hold the arrow over the object until you see scissors, click on the object and drag to the A4 sheet.
Look at the Layers window, right click on the object layer and duplicate layer to start to create your Mandala design
Repeat the process with another object, experiment with transform, scale and rotate
Use other images of the same object to add to your design
Add a background if you like. Choose the rectangle selection tool, then go to layers, new fill layer and fill your selection, use the colour picker to match the colour to one in your design.
