Lastly, cut the pomegranate into eights. This is not necessary, but I find it easier to peel this way.

Peel it underwater. This makes it easy to break apart. Don't worry about the outside of the pomegranate...the seeds sink to the bottom and the peel floats.

Before I drain the water, I like to scoop the peel up with my hand and then throw it away.
