Take out the pomegranate
Fill a bowl with water. I fill mine up 3/4 of the way. This way, when you peel the pomegranate, the water doesn't overflow.
Get out your knife. I sharpen mine before I use it.
Cut the pomegranate in half on a cutting board
Now cut into fourths🔪
Lastly, cut the pomegranate into eights. This is not necessary, but I find it easier to peel this way.
Put the pomegranate underneath the water
Peel it underwater. This makes it easy to break apart. Don't worry about the outside of the pomegranate...the seeds sink to the bottom and the peel floats.
Peel the whole fruit. This is what it looks like when the peel floats.
Before I drain the water, I like to scoop the peel up with my hand and then throw it away.
Strain it and pick out any excess peel.
