How to pay a fine at the self-issue machine

This guide shows you how to pay a fine using the self issue machine - only one of our three machines has a payment unit so make sure you choose this one. You can also pay online or at the Help Desk.

Select 'Account', then place your card in the slot below the screen. Remember, your card can go in any direction, it just needs to touch the base of the reader.

Once your card number shows, enter your PIN. If you haven't set one yet, leave this blank and select OK, but remember to go online and add one later.

Your account summary shows everything you have on loan - you can also renew and check if reserved items are available for you to collect. To pay fines, select 'Pay Charges'.

This screen shows you the total charges on your account and asks you to choose a payment method. We're paying by cash today but not paying off all charges.

Insert cash into the payment slot. If you pay by card you will be asked to choose how much you wish to pay.

Now select 'Pay'. If you have more than one fine in this list it will pay them off in sequence until the amount paid has been reached.

At the end of your transaction you will be offered a receipt - we recommend you keep this in case there are any queries later. You can now return to your account if you'd like to do more.
