How to paint a monochromatic scene option 2

Set up your paint tray.

Draw a rectangle on your paper to give your paper a border.

Your lightest tint is value 2 on your value scale.

Your medium tint is value 3 on your value scale.

Your darkest shade is value 6 on your value scale.

Your medium shade is value 5 on your value scale.

Fill your painting to the bottom edge of your box using value 4.

Your water should be darker at the top and fade at the bottom.

Begin painting your sky with value 7 (black). Paint just the top of your sky.

Paint highlight ripples across your paper and about halfway down your paper.
