Wash and pat dry potatoes. Roughly peel potatoes, leaving some skin attached.
Make sure you peel the tops and bottoms well to remove spores.
Cut each potato into quarters.
Place in a pot of boiling water and cook over medium heat until potatoes are soft, about 20 minutes.
Drain potatoes and add to large bowl.
Slice butter into small chunks.
Add butter to potatoes. The heat from the potatoes will help the butter melt.
Time for the ranch dressing!
Pour entire package of dry ranch dressing over potatoes.
Add milk.
Use a potato masher to smash the potatoes and mix everything together.
If desired, add salt, pepper, and fresh parsley. Serve and enjoy!
