How to make zesty choco-nut cookies
A (bunch of) twist(s) on the classic chocolate chip cookie recipe

I always use a little less than the specified measurement and add more if it's not enough. Bake for 15 minutes, after about 12 check on them.
Make sure to take everything out of your oven!
Gather your ingredients
Put all dry ingredients together except for chocolate chips, nuts, cherries, and lemon zest
Use a whisk to mix the dry ingredients if you have clumpy sugar
Mix butter then add in a small handful of chocolate chips
Mix butter+chocolate with eggs
Make sure to wait for the butter, choco egg mix to cool before adding it to dry ingredients
Mix half way, not fully
Add nuts, chips, and cherries. Add as much as you like. I didn't have many cherries or chips :(
Add another 1/4 cup of flour until the cookie dough's consistency pleases you
Almost there, you mix should be brown
Grate your lemon skin
Line and grease your tray
Initially start with 15 but they won't be done for about 30. But make sure to check on them frequently. Also I lowered the temperature from 350 to 300 after 12 minutes.
Separate mix into 12 balls and lemon zest, then into the oven for 30 minutes, check on them regularly, and poke the middle with a tooth pick

- 2.0c Whole wheat flour
- 1.0tsp Baking soda
- 1.0tsp Salt
- 2.0 Eggs
- 1.0c Butter (almost one cup)
- 3/4c White sugar
- 3/4c Brown sugar
- 1.0tsp Vanilla
- Chocolate chips
- Nuts
- Dried cherries (optional)
- Shredded lemon skin
- 3/4tsp Chili pepper
- 3/4tsp Cinnamon
