Please note: the measurements are completely up to you! I just wrote down the amounts I used. I made these for a pool party, that's why I used 9 cups. For a smaller group I recommend a smaller amount.

Also, if you want your treats to be less sticky/gooey then use less marshmallows, you don't have to follow the same ratio. So adjust the amounts to your liking!

Grease your pan/mold with butter and set aside.

Mix 1/3 of the amount of marshmallows you're using and 1/2 the butter in a microwave safe bowl. Melt in the microwave - start at 1 min. then do 30-second intervals until its fully melted and puffy.

The round pan I had at the time was too small for the amount of Rice Krispies I was using so here's what I did. Placed some parchment paper and tried to make the rind as round and even as possible.

Repeat the same steps as previously. This time you'll be using the remaining 2/3 of your marshmallows and Rice Krispies. Add the red food coloring until you get a pinkish-red color.

Now place the red mixture in the middle of the green rind you made. Try to spread it and level it out with your hands, by greasing them or pressing down with wax paper.

Add the chocolate chops on top for the seeds. Using mini morsels is better/more realistic, but I only had the regular size which'll do.

Leave it to set for a bit, cut it up, then there you have it - watermelon Rice Krispie treats! yum!

The photos were from the first time I made the treats, and lesson learnt, I shouldv'e used a mold, which would help spread the mix easier and evenly, and would make them smaller in size.
