This Valentine's project was pretty simple so with young children like Dani Rea. She is learning her letters and I wanted to incorporate that into the project. We made a cross with letter matching.
You can glue a magnet or hanger to the back.
Start out by cutting 6 pieces of paper into squares. We cut 4 pinks and 2 whites.
I wrote the letters on the paper in the colors shown here, using a heart for the “o.”
Next, I wrote the letters on the cross so she could match the letters on the squares.
We discussed how the Bible is full of stories about love. Valentine’s Day is a perfect time to talk about love. It is one of the greatest commands, and it is who God is (1 John 4:8).
I told Dani Rea that no matter what happens in life, that God loves her unconditionally. She adorably responded with, “That means forever and ever.” This was such an easy way to relate that message.
Dani Rea proudly asked if she could hang her cross in her room, so she could see it right when she opened her eyes in the morning.
