I'm tie dying a canvas bag.
I centered my hoop on my bag and stuffed it with plastic bags to keep the colors from running through to the other side.
I've also seen this step done with plastic cups and rubber bands. If you want a smaller circle or don't have embroidery hoops, that would be a good option.
Choose your colors and start doodling.
Fill your space.
Next we're going to drip the alcohol on.
Dip your straw in and cover the top with your finger.
Hhhhmmmmmm....... The colors aren't really spreading and blending like I wanted.
Not to worry. I bought a 3 pack! Lets's try it a little differently.
This was how Martha did it. I put a cookie sheet in my bag.
Just do really simple circles with dots around them in a different color.
I found out that darker colors work better and that a little blue goes a long way.
Go play a game while it dries.
I added more details after it dried. I was surprised at how much detail was maintained. I thought it was going to all blend together & you wouldn't be able to see my original marks.
This is a really fun project you can use on any light colored fabric. (see, I did my chucks too) Experiment and see what you come up with. 😃
