Get your supplies together.
Pour oats into the dry frying pan and put on a medium heat.
Stir the oats gently and continuously for about 5 minutes or so until the fragrant aroma tells you the oats are toasted.
Turn off the heat and leave the oats to cool.
To make the transfer to the container easy, first pour the cool, toasted oats onto a clean newspaper.
Then carefully pick up both sides of the paper and pour the oats into your chosen container.
