Peel plantains and slice into 1/2 rounds diagonally.
Take the whole cloves and stuff one piece in each end
One pce in each end.😊
In a pan over medium high heat add the oil.
Add the teaspoon of sugar
Once the sugar caramelizes, Immediately start adding the plantains and move around in the oil and sugar.
The plantains have nicely browned
Add the snapped piece of cinnamon stick
Combine the water and sugar, stir it and add it to the plantains
Nice and bubbly , indicating its getting thick.
Enjoy. Serve with rice, beans and any type of meat. 👍👍
- 3-4 very ripe sweet plantains
- 3/4c Water
- 3/4c White sugar + 1 tsp
- 1.0 Cinnamon stick, cut in half
- 2.0Tbsp Oil or butter
- 2.0Tbsp Whole cloves
