Collect all of your ingredients: 2 cans (21 oz each) cherry pie filling, 1/2 cup butter, 3 oz cream cheese, 2 teaspoons vanilla, and 18 oz yellow cake mix.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees farenheit
Pour cherry pie filling into greased 13x9 baking dish and bake for 5-7 minutes or until heated
While the filling is in the oven, cream together butter and cream cheese until fluffy
Beat in the vanilla
Place dry cake mix in a large bowl
Add cream cheese mixture
And cut in cream cheese mixture until this topping is crumbly
Tear/sprinkle this topping over the hot filling
The topping should cover the filling completely
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until topping is golden brown
Let cool, top with whip cream or vanilla ice cream and enjoy!
